Tom Greene

Tom Greene, President
Tom Greene, originally from Illinois, is a 14 year resident of Chino Hills. He has been an active user of the State Park since 1992. Beginning in 1999, Tom became associated with the volunteer program working on habitat enhancement projects for the Natural History Unit. These projects include working on native plant propagation in the nursery and also going out into the field and taking part in projects to return the plants to their native habitat. Tom also leads interpretive hikes throughout the State Park in which he helps identify native flora and fauna and points out the unique features of the various natural communities within the park. Tom is also a member of the Wildlife Corridor Conservation Authority Advisory Committee, which helps in the preservation, conservation and environmental protection of the Puente-Chino Hills Wildlife Corridor.

Neil Connolly

Since the 1980s Neil has help conduct the bald eagle census, so brings his expertise on wildlife to CHSPIA. He hopes to enlighten the public about the environment and teach visitors why open space is important and why needs to be preserved.

Melanie Schlotterbeck

Melanie Schlotterbeck, Secretary/Treasurer
Melanie Schlotterbeck has been working on the preservation and protection of Chino Hills State Park since she was a toddler. Throughout high school she arranged Park clean ups and hikes.  Her love of the Park was symbolized by a bachelor’s degree in Geography. After a short stint as an intern with the National Park Service, she went on to receive her master’s degree in Environmental Science. For her master’s project she mapped species diversity of mammals and reptiles for the entire Puente-Chino Hills Wildlife Corridor. Today, she remains committed to the protection of critical lands in Wildlife Corridor. As a Secretary/Treasurer of the Interpretive Association, Melanie hopes to encourage understanding the resources, promote opportunities within the Park and teach the public about the uniqueness of Chino Hills State Park.
