Who We Are

MISSION AND PURPOSE
Friends of Chino Hills State Park, formerly Chino Hills State Park Interpretive Association, was established in 1992, and is a non-profit volunteer based organization that assists the California Department of Parks and Recreation in maintaining and restoring Chino Hills State Park. Through interpretive programs and volunteer support designed to enhance visitor experiences, Friends of Chino Hills State Park fosters appreciation and the enlightened use of the State Park. All funds raised go directly to Chino Hills State Park to support interpretive activities, events, and other programs. Our federal tax identification number is 33-0542316.

The mission and purpose of the Friends of Chino Hills State Park has always been to support Chino Hills State Park through fundraising that benefits interpretive programming and maintenance as well as restoration of the natural habitats that are crucial for the 31-mile long Puente-Chino Hills Wildlife Corridor.

Fundraising is accomplished by membership dues, donations, collaborating with local businesses for events, the California State Park Association, Volunteers-In-Parks and sales of merchandise in the Discovery Center.

Friends of Chino Hills State Park currently has 11 board members and has raised over $200,000 over the last 20 years for park programming and various improvements.
